Expansion Broadcast: Drum & Bass and Dubstep Podcast

So this past week was really a rather crazy one, that unfortunately left me very little time to devote to planning and executing the show. Nevertheless, everything managed to turn out great. Jungle Jessi and Bassmachine came through and played great sets, and Jukata threw down a half hour of dubstep so we wouldn’t have to close early. Enjoy!

I’m well aware that for the past few weeks this site has been painfully slow. It probably bothers me more than it bothers you but I just wanted to make everyone aware that I know about the situation and I’ve already contacted our host to try and resolve the problem. Hopefully we’ll get switched over to a new server soon. Please just bare with us for now.

For those that don’t know, MC insuWRECKtionist helped me kick off Expansion Broadcast about 3 years back. I’ve known the son of a bitch for years now. Back when we used to live up in Baltimore, he was always at my side as my MC of choice. Anyway, he’s since retired from the club circuit and is now a teacher. Apparently he hasn’t forgotten his roots…

No drum and bass for this podcast. I actually started the show off with a very brief set of DJ Shadow tunes but I was unable to record it because my recorder was acting up. But luckily I got it working in time for Shade who played a solid downtempo set. Following that, we kicked off District Dubstep Part 2 with Jukata and followed that up with Ricky Ricardo.

I unfortunately pretty much botched the first half of Ricky Ricardo’s recording so his portion of the set starts about half way in his set. My bad

You like’a da dubstep? Well tonight is part 2 of our ongoing series, “District Dubstep”. Tonight’s installment includes the beloved Ricky Ricardo and Jukata. We’ll be kicking off the dubstep portion of the show at 8:00 PM. Who know’s what’ll happen the first hour but chances are I’ll be spinning. So do the damn thing tonight and keep it locked.

That’s right, I am playing a drum’n'bass set on March 7th at the newly restarted Deuce weekly, held at Sonar in Baltimore, MD. Headliner for the dnb room that night is DB (Breakbeat Science - NY), and I think Dj Sun and a few others are playing the lounge room that night. I’m playing a two hour set (or so I hear), so who knows what I’ll do with the time, but come on out, hear some tunes, dance, have some drinks and hang out.
