Brandon Riggs, IllEffect, and some douche-wad I’ve never heard of this Friday

Monday, October 29th, 2007

Actually I lie, I have heard of Lee Burridge but only through Hitoi who is a closet “prog” fanatic. But I honestly have no idea who “Audiofly” is. Soo… yeah. There.

But anyway, Brandon Riggs and I are gonna do up some serious… action? Him and I plan to go back to back all night form 10 o’clock to close doing half hour rotations. Brandon and I tend to play a very similar style so this should work nicely. Perhaps you could even dub us “B-FECT” (just don’t tell D!).

Flier for Brandon Riggs and IllEffect at Buzz, Friday November 2nd, 2007

If you wanna get down for the reduced list, send me a message via our contact page with your full name as it appears on your ID and I’ll pass the info along.

Commix, Chase & Status, and Bobby Jae. But most importantly - ILLEFFECT!

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Yep, I’ll be playing alongside big names Commix and Chase & Status tomorrow night at Club Five. Its a steal at only 10 bucks all night long. You definitely ought to come!

EXBC Podcast 53 Part 2: Beasley

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

“Big ‘tings” by the McBeasle. I know it wasn’t quite as hard as what Colleen would have wanted to hear. I believe her words were “What is this pussy shit?” (kidding!) Good stuff nevertheless.

EXBC + Post Party = Awesome Friday Night for You

Friday, October 19th, 2007

So after one helluva craptastic week, I’m certainly glad its Friday as I’m sure you are as well. Sure, you probably don’t have work tomorrow, but that’s not why you’re excited. Oh no. That’s just ridiculous.

Tonight = EXBC funness. First up, we of course have our usually scheduled broadcast. I’m gonna drop some MAD BEATS (and by “mad” I mean smooth and sexy) for the first hour. After me, your favorite roommate-fill-in and mine, Mr. Beasley. Then from 9-11, I reckon Ricky Ricardo will take over from there and close out nicely with some dubstep that’ll surely put you right to sleep give you a boner?.

BUT THE FUN DOESN’T STOP THERE! After we close up shop, we’ll be heading over to Rock n Roll Hotel out on H St NE for some more drum and bass funness (I used it twice in this post, I believe that makes it an official word). Our very own Handsome Harry Ransom and (Mildly Attractive?) Mike Darkenetiks will be doing their thing from 12:30 to 1 12:30 - 1:30 (oops, I’m a moron) along with Altered Encryption, Headhunterz, Telemetrik, Lycan, Kaotix, Inflictz, and MC Concept. Fun fun funness (that’s three times!). Its free so shut your face and come on out.

More events!

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Sure, we still have these guys playing Rock & Roll Hotel this Friday night, and then show patriarch IllEffect at Five on Wednesday the 24th, but now we have two more events we think you all should know about:

10/26 - Ransom at Buzz @ Fur: wearing the same suit that I wear to Jungle Jessie & James Jukata’s wedding earlier that night, I will be opening up for Breakage, who will be playing a 3-hour set of whatever he wants. I want to play drum’n'bass, so that’s what is played during my two hour set. Carl Cox is in the main room, and Mike & Ali are wearing costumes.

11/21 - Ransom and Darkenetiks @ Pho-Real Thanksgiving @ Five: Playing separate sets, I know I am playing classic drum’n'bass on the roof, and Mike is going to play vinyl records of some sort. Plus Matt Nordstrom and Dave Nada in the main room, and who knows who else is on this line up. The next day is Thanksgiving, so come out this night!

And in non-club event news, Renaissance Festival this past Saturday was super super fun, and next weekend a bunch of us are hitting the NoVA beer festival, which is going to be tasty.

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Due to some traffic, we had to do the ol’ switch-a-roo so Harry started off the show instead of Nick.

Tonight’s show

Friday, October 12th, 2007

After a bit of a hiatus on my part, the first half of EXBC will be back in my control. So for the drum and bass side of things, we got Mr. Harry Ransom and what as well be a new EXBC regular, Guile. Ricky Ricardo and Whighzeguy will still be hosting the dubstep end of things for the night.

I just wanted to give a quick mention that we are now simulcasting our show on Essential Tunes FM so in case you don’t wanna listen on our regular Destroyer stream, you can now do so via an equally high quality stream provided by Essential Tunes FM.
