A jolly good drum & bass/dubstep radio show and podcast! Hurrah!
Ricky Ricardo doin’ up his usual dubstep thing. Bigness as always!
Yes, 12″ vinyl records and the occasional CD. And I am playing them at the following events this month:
- 12/16/2007 : Essential Breaks takeover Tsunami Tsundays @ Cafe Japone - the line-up has not been announced yet, but I am playing a breakbeat set this night, and I am pretty sure Proxxy and Lantern are playing too since they’re the Essential Breaks bosses.
- 12/21/2007 : Buzz @ Fur - this night is going to be big, I am opening for Mayhem (Shadowlaw / 404 Audio / lots of other big and notable affiliations - ATL), and we are both coming correct. I am very excited about this night, I think it has potential to be a big one, it’s right before Christmas and I just have this feeling it is going to be really fun. Plus I’ll probably mix a dubstep record out of Fresh’s “Chainsaw” if I play it this night.
- 01/12/2008 : Meditations @ Rock & Roll Hotel - first ever IllEffect & Ransom tag team. Too bad we’ll probably only get an hour to share, but this could be reallllllly interesting. Dancefloor bangers. Plus Aaron Perpetuum is headlining, and he promises more of that super future b-boy business. Hell, he might even play a neuro tune if he feels like it. Plus we have other local buddies playing that night (Quannum Logic b2b Alter-Ego, Demetrious b2b Kirkout, Phaydn, plus MCs Mecha and Concept hosting on the mic).
I am not sure what others have lined up in the next few months, but I think Mike/Darkenetiks is playing Meditations on 12/22. Plus there is Concord Dawn at Sonar in Baltimore on 12/06, Konkrete Jungle DC with Ewun on 12/16, and Method One and Signal of Robot Death Squad at Buzz on 12/28.
Here’s the second part of last Friday’s show. Thanks to Carlo for coming through.
I haven’t listened to the mix yet but I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess: old Spirit tunes? Who knows! Maybe if things get crizazy enough, Shade might even post a track listing.
And on a side note, I’m happy to report that Shade has confirmed what I already believed to be true: Audacity sucks.
