Expansion Broadcast: Drum & Bass and Dubstep Podcast

So last week we ran some pre-recorded mixes for you on account of the holiday weekend and our general laziness. Since none of the mixes were made explicitly for or on the show, I’m just going to provide you with the links. The downtempo mix of mine that I played for the first hour was actually like half a mix (the other half dnb) which isn’t online anywhere.. so that’s only available by, um, ’special request.’ After that, we played:

Sorry about the late post. Due to holiday time constraints and such, we’re going to be having a special format show tonight. I’ll be playing select previously recorded mp3s for the duration of the show. I am currently collecting them and not quite sure yet what I will play, but so far I’ve decided on an old downtempo mix of mine to start (vol. 17), and Jungle Jessi’s Solyaris (we promised). Tomorrow night is gonna be awesome. It’s muh birthday. AAAND I just got a huge promotion. AND everything is awesome. AAAND there’s gonna be a shit ton of dnb djs at my house. There will be no order to the madness. DJs will come and go as they please, passing across the decks like wind in the desert of my haunted soul. AWESOME.

People who are probably gonna come play some records at some point: ME, Skandalus, Jungle Jessi, Jukata, Carlo, Hyx, Psykofly, Quannum Logic, Darkenetiks, Hitoi, Hollowpoint Ransom, Brian Arsenault, and maybe even some more. Also, some of those people might not play. It’s a madhouse, NOBODY KNOWS!!!

Well aside from me totally botching up about 15 minutes worth of ODJ’s set, I’d say this last week’s show was fan-freakin-tastic. For anyone who was listening during ODJ’s set and thought they might be hearing Super Mario Bros, well, you were almost right. It was actually Super Smash Bros Melee. Yup, I’m a total moron. Sorry Jackson. Sorry listeners. I promise I won’t play video games during any DJ sets next week!

It’s been a slow week on the postings. My b. But it’s all gooooooood cuz tomorrow night is Expansion Broadcast! Yayy weeeee hoorraaay LOUD NOISES!!!!

This week’s lineup will include Abe Froman (who hasn’t been on the show in a long ass time) going back to back with DJ Projects (who has never played the show). Mr. I-spent-my-entire-tax-refund-on-records-ODJ will be back on doing up a very special PISS up set and I will be tagging up with Shade for a I-don’t-have-a-clue-what-this-will-sound-like set. Good times! Friday night, 7-11 PM EST - be there!

So this past week was really a rather crazy one, that unfortunately left me very little time to devote to planning and executing the show. Nevertheless, everything managed to turn out great. Jungle Jessi and Bassmachine came through and played great sets, and Jukata threw down a half hour of dubstep so we wouldn’t have to close early. Enjoy!

No drum and bass for this podcast. I actually started the show off with a very brief set of DJ Shadow tunes but I was unable to record it because my recorder was acting up. But luckily I got it working in time for Shade who played a solid downtempo set. Following that, we kicked off District Dubstep Part 2 with Jukata and followed that up with Ricky Ricardo.

I unfortunately pretty much botched the first half of Ricky Ricardo’s recording so his portion of the set starts about half way in his set. My bad
