Harry Ransom
With over ten years of Djing, Ransom has quite a collection of vinyl, some dubplates too, and experience ranging from college and internet radio, to mixing at clubs and raves on both coasts of the states. Locally he is known by many as Harry Ransom, for some time the go-to guy for track IDs and random drum’n’bass knowledge and info. Founder of the DCDNB list serv and website (www.dcdnb.org), he was also part of the burgeoning tech-step scene with The Step Syndicate, a fixture at local events, and eventually involved in throwing events such as Act Your Age and Volume, and organizing the drum’n’bass talent for several of the DC Skillz’s early Tunnel events. Nowadays Ransom works full-time, likes listening to a wide range of music, occasionally mixes drum’n’bass and breakbeat sets, plays video games too much, drinks beers at the EXBC show and orders chicken wings from that spot down the street from the show. Sometimes he even Djs on the show and at local events.
