Upfront Industries presents:
CHASE & STATUS [ Ram Records ] - UK
Since the birth of their Drum and Bass career in 2004, things have been moving extremely rapidly for this London based duo. From their debut release on Renegade Hardware (a remix of Future Cut’s 20/20), a continuous output of quality music has followed, catapulting Chase and Status into the premiership of Drum and Bass.
Chase and Status continue to work harder than ever and have had a busy start to 2007 with the release of two huge remixes. Firstly there was their take on Brockie & Ed Solo’s classic ‘Represent’ on Undiluted and shortly after saw the acclaimed remix of Plan B’s - ‘No Good’ on 679. The pair recently signed exclusively with Andy C & Red One’s label, Ram Records. April 2007 saw the duo’s debut Ram release with ‘Dumpling Riddim’ B/W ‘Disco’ which went straight in at Number 1 in the 1xtra Drum and Bass charts and Number 2 in the National Dance Charts on BBC Radio 1. Forthcoming, is the Chase and Status remix of, Mercury Music Prize winner, Dizzee Rascal’s ‘Sirens’ on XL Recordings, and an exciting, highly anticipated album set for early next year, which will showcase the incredible versatility of these talented producers.
Quickly getting noticed for their mixing skills as well as their production, Chase and Status have gathered a hectic DJ schedule and can regularly be seen touring the world. Beginning their DJ careers just over 13 years ago, they have witnessed the constant stylistic changes the industry has been through and their sets really reflect this, covering a wide spectrum of Drum and Bass. They still cut dubplates week in week out and are well known for playing exciting sets, often combining different musical genres.
SPIRIT [ Inneractive | Metalheadz ] - UK
From his early days on Metalheadz, to his collaborations with Digital to his own heavy and challenging label Inneractive, Spirit has been bringing his own sound to the genre and suprising audiences with every other selection out of the bag. Spirit’s solo work continued with further releases for C.I.A, Timeless, Renegade Hardware (including the mammoth ‘Sphinx’) and the mighty ‘Solitaire’ for Metalheadz, culminating in the launch of his own solo imprint, Inneractive Music in the summer of 2002. The last two years have seen Spirit go on to even bigger and better things. With Inneractive Music now firmly in position and into double figures release wise, work for Klute’s Commercial Suicide label, the Solitaire Remix or Metalheadz alongside tracks for their MDZ03 & MDZ04 compilations, Marcus Intalex & St. Files Revolve:r imprint and a host of remixes which included the Goldie classic ‘Sinister’, Spirit is currently hard at work on his debut album for Inneractive Music, while
also allowing the label to showcase newer talent from the likes of Amit, Outrage, Cujo, Tactile & Heist.

Of course, I won’t be able to make this as the wifey is receiving her grad degree from GW Saturday night. Oh well.
Have fun without me!
Are you kidding me? they have been spamming the dcdnb mail list daily and there’s a thread on the bizzoard. Yeah, that’s right, the bizzoard.
Aw well. Send my congrats to the wifey
Oh, well, I’m not on the dcdnb mailing list.

And I haven’t checked the Buzzboard events forum for a while. I’ve been concering myself with the Seattle DNB board’s events section. We’re going to be in Seattle & Portland for two weeks starting this coming Tuesday.
I’m hoping to catch Random Movement at a club called Ohm on the 28th.
Not to mention hit their, hopefully, plentiful record shops.
Will send your congrats, too.
Ohh damn. I really wanna head out to Seattle again at some point. You’ll have so much fun! And I’m sure seeing Random Movement will be dope! Have a blasty.
